I was at Walmart in the video section today. Believe it or not, United
93 is already on the shelf.
I took it home and watched it again tonight (I saw it when it was at the
theatre).
I don't take back a single word I said about it. It was excellent and
very well done. They didn't mention Osama bin A**hole's name even once
(depriving him of the glory) or give the names of the hijackers (who cares
about the name of men who would kill so many innocent people, I don't),
which I thought was a nice touch.
But the video version didn't have the same ending as the one in the
theatre. In the theatre, they crashed and it was over. In this video, they
showed events after the crash.
It stirs up so much emotion in me. And it makes me proud to know that
America bred people strong enough to overcome the fear of their imminent
deaths to save the lives of so many other people. It brings out the kind of
emotions that will help us to heal and move on so that the loss of their
lives will not be meaningless.
As I think I previously said, I saw David Beamer (Todd Beamer's father)
interviewed on Fox News. He said that the nine eleven families had already
previewed the film and were in support of it, He also said that the film
makers had worked very closely with the families to be sure that the
character sketches of their loved ones were accurate.
I think these film makers hit their target.
The movie studio has pledged ten per cent of the profits be donated to
the fund to build the United 93 memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvana at the
crash site.
Go see it and/or get the video. It's well worth it.
