Last night, I had dinner at the Petro Truck Stop in Atlanta, GA.
I spoke with a trucker who had a couple of books he was finished reading and wanted to pass on to someone else. So, he gave them to me.
The one that really got my attention was a book entitled, "Faces of Evil" that was written by a woman named Lois Gibson. Lois was a forensic artist for the Houston Police Department. Her worked led to the capture and conviction of a large number of evil criminals.
Her sketches have been on a number of newscasts and even crime solving shows. According to her Web site, she was listed in the Guiness Book as being the world's most successful forensic artist.
It is a fascinating book that focuses mostly on how she assisted law enforcement with identifying and locating criminals who might have otherwise escaped justice and gone on to harm other potential victims.
Her Web site is at: http://www.loisgibson.com if you want to find out more about her.
She's just released a new book called, "Forensic Art Essentials" and teaches forensic art at Northwestern University.
She is obviously a very remarkable individual, an obvious benefit to the community, and the kind of person you'd like to have living next door to you. She tells some very fascinating stories about bringing closure to many victims who might never have otherwised received it.
If you're looking for a good book, I would recommend this one. I am on chapter eleven of fifteen so I am very much looking forward to reading the rest.
Regards,
Fred Atkinson
