We have a tradition for Superbowl Sunday of going out to dinner anyplace where they do not have live television.

Peace and quiet and no scenes of grown men running around in spandex with chamber pots on their heads.

This I'm sure may have little interest to Robyn, Susan and David. But the most sacred of weekends is upon us. What us Americans won't do to party. What began as a bridge to bring together 2 American football leagues has turned into a spectacular that almost puts the game itself on the back burner. I am speaking of course about the Super Bowl. I still have memorabilia from last years game (played here in Detroit) I haven't opened yet. I spent an entire day and evening in Detroit taking in the sights. The game couldn't have been that much fun. The hype leading up to the game never ends. Some people watch it just to judge the commercials. Some only because their home team is playing. And if you're a Detroit Lions fan, you only wish for divine intervention.
Sunday I'll be camped out down here in my basement wearing wearing my official Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts jersey, with a Lions t-shirt under it just to keep the dream alive. I'll be armed with a bag of chips, a cheese ball and several Diet Cokes. Pre-game begins at 11 am. The game starts at 6:30 pm I think. I hope I bought a big enough cheese ball.

  Gale
