I must have missed that one :-)

We have a Muslim Cleric here who regularly preaches dissent.  He was
overseas for Christmas and made some more of his usual outrageous comments.
As I recall this one was along the line that the Australian women deserve to
be raped because they dress in immodest ways.  The Attorney-General was
asked by the media if he would be allowed to return.  His response was that
free speech is allowed in this country.

We have a lot of trouble with a small number of radical Muslims.  I don't
think they are representative of the community as a whole but they get
publicity out of proportion to their numbers; I guess because they are so
outrageous it is news worthy.  But, as far as I know, they have not been
offered one way tickets on Qantas.  There was recently a film on Utube which
purported to be created by pupils from a western Sydney school.  I did not
pay a whole heap of attention but it had a lot of teens bearing rifles,
suggesting violence and showed a map of Oz with a Lebanese flag
superimposed.  There was a bit of a press furore but it disappeared two days
later so I don't know if anything was done by the "authorites".

    The government of Australia sent the Muslims of Australia a message some
time ago.  They told them that Australia is a secular state and if they have
a problem with that and want to live under Islamic Law that they should
leave the country as that wasn't going to happen.

    Perhaps we should send the same message.
