It has been, if nothing else, an active and exciting summer. Yje house guests start arriving later today for Vic's wedding, and off course fate puts this week as the time for some major things to go on with my business as well.

The Cindarella coach is a funny story. Vic has always wanted that, but when she decided to get married at the academy a carriage seemed out of the question . . . to start with we're in New York and the only two places with them are in Florida and California (like they would lend them out, we thought). Then there was the small problem of the academy being a military base, both the church and reception hall being national shrines, and the issue of horses on the grounds of the school.

In steps her uncle and brother. Seems Uncle Frank has this stable with plenty of horses, brother Richard works for ESPN which is part of Disney and was willing to ask if he could borrow the carriage, and reminded Vic that her father (that would be me) also had strong Disney connections. So, Rich gets the carriage from Florida (can you believe they have five of them!),  Uncle Frank gets the horses from a buddy (he only has racing horses), and I get to ship the thing up and down the east coast. All that, and the reception is about 200 feet from the Church!

    Las Vagus, what a beautiful fun setting to get married. My daughter said you have to go there to really feel the place. Its on my list.


  Cinderella's coach wow!  I hope we get to see some photos and a honeymoon on an Alaska cruise as well it all sounds so wonderful. Another grandchild as well, no wonder you haven't had much time lately, its all go.

    Exciting isn't the word. Between July 15th and August 15th:

    * My older daughter remarried. She was the one who lost her husband of six months just last year. BTW you can actuanny see the wedding at www.702weddings.com. Just pick the wedding pull down, and enter July 16th as a date and Alexandria as the bride's first name.

    That wedding was in a Las Vegas chapel (followed by dinner at a grat restaurant) and the whole thing fully shocked Dad as to how nice it was.

    This weeks wedding will be very different . . . at the United States Merchant Marine National Chapel, with reception at the USMMA Officers Club (which is also Herman Melville's old house. The ride between will be in Cinderella's coach (thanks to Victoria's God Father and my son's Disney connection) lined by 1,000 uniformed midshippmen.

    We've sent them on an Alaska cruise as a combination honeymoon and get them far from us (they bought a home 2 miles from here).

    Oh, and to add to the fun, my duaghter-in-law is expecting grandchild #3 early in August.

    Thanks the lord the condo on grand caymen is almost done!
