Re: [Mishmash] News *BULLETIN*The interesting "oddball" thing was on the last trip we went through the Kiel Canal (English Channel to Baltic Sea) . . .on a 70,000 ton ship. The ship was built to go through the canal (funnel hinges off and masts drop) and is so large and the canal so small you sail past towns where you wave to people on their apartment decks!
The ship's fee for the canal was $18,000 (an eight hour event) . . . for the Panama Canal the same ship is charged $150,000!

that sound so great what a good idea working and seeing places at the same time. I 've heard that they have done a lot of work on the canal so will be interested to hear about that .
Look forward to hearing about the wedding

Hi.
We're down to two children left at home, with one getting married in early August. Because I'm set up to work from anywhere, we can travel whenever we want, as long as I have a cell phone and internet access.
So, long story short . . .we made a decision last year to travel at least every 3 months. We've become fascinated with cruise ships . . . not the island hopping stuff (that's greet for a winter break but is really beach-lunch-shop only) but the moving hotels they've started running. The latest - - - 16 days in the Baltic out of Dover.
Next (post wedding) .. . LA-Miami through the canal.

Hey, I'm here too. Spent the last three weeks in Estonia and St. Petersburg . . . a bit out of touch.

An undetermined amount of people on a local mailing list were declared Missing In Action for failure to communicate. An all points bulletin has been issued as the proprieter of the list has not even been able to find them sleeping in the corridors.
I'm awake! I'm awake!!!
Moved the son to Louisville Thursday and Friday. I'm back. I'm refreshed with a decent night's sleep. Ready to participate. Now somebody tell me who you people are!
More to come.
