Australia recently offered to provide aid to Lebanon. We would send back
10,000 Lebs. It was considered to be a win/win.

Cheers

David

Teen told parents: 'Die both of you, now'
24 May 2007

GOLD Coast teenager Kaihana Tahseen Hussain told her parents to "die both of
you now" after stabbing them in a frenzied knife attack, a court has heard.

Hussain, 17, is charged with murdering her mother Shaheda Yasmeen Hussain
and attempting to murder her father in their Gold Coast unit on October 9
last year.

Her father, Muhammad Nurual Hussain, today gave evidence during her
committal hearing at Southport Magistrates Court before Magistrate Ron
Kilner.

The 49-year-old told the court his teenage daughter blindfolded him and his
wife in their bedroom after telling them she had surprise gifts for them.

He then felt something penetrate his stomach, followed by the warm sensation
of blood flowing from the wound.

"I was shocked," Mr Hussain told the court.

"Then she told me: 'This is your surprise'."

Mr Hussain said the attack happened just two days after his wife and
daughter had returned to the Gold Coast from a trip to their native
Bangladesh and during the Islamic religious observance of Ramadan.

He said he did not see his wife stabbed but heard her say: "(Kaihana)
Tahseen has stabbed me".

"She was screaming: 'I'm dying' in Bengali," Mr Hussain added.

"I realised we were both dying and we would have to inform the ambulance or
the police."

Asked by crown prosecutor Mark Whitbread what his daughter did after the
attack, Mr Hussain replied: "She was actually just in front of me".

"She said twice: 'Die both of you now' -- once in English and a second time
in Bengali.

"In response, I told her: 'What mistake we have done for us to die'?"

Disorientated and losing blood, Mr Hussain said he went for help outside,
struggling in the process with his daughter as he went to open the front
door.

Under cross-examination by defence lawyer Dennis Lynch, Mr Hussain said he
was "very angry" his daughte r planned to convert from Islam to Christianity
and disapproved of her relationship with university student Benjamin Miles
Thomas Brady.

Mr Hussain also said he'd given some false statements to police after
recovering from his injuries at a Brisbane hospital because of his confused
state of mind.

He also conceded he sought a written guarantee police would not charge him
with any crime stemming from the incident before agreeing to provide a
statement.

Salvation Army officers took turns to console the teenager in the dock when
she frequently broke down in tears while her father gave evidence.

The hearing will reconvene in October.
