really - you are fined if you don't vote?  i never knew that.  well, that
wouldn't work here because we have a low voting percentage and those that
don't vote are even more ignorant than those that do so it's hard to tell
what would be elected.  you can go to the polls and turn in an empty ballot
can't you?  they surely don't look at your vote ballot to make sure you
voted for someone.  everyone i know, even those who are tired of the whole
thing - will indeed vote - and they will all vote for mccain - the only
person i knew that wouldn't have died last week.  i have very few political
arguements (and i'm really geared for them) cause all my friends and
relatives are on the same track as i am.  lol.

thanks, I must admit we are very sick it in Aust as well I don't think a
night goes by without something about it. At least you don't have to vote if
you don't want to, we have to and are fined if we don't vote.

our election process is long but this election started the day after the
last election in 2004.  billery and osama obama started campaigning the day
after they were elected to the senate.  so....you can see what we have been
getting for our money from those 2 - nothing (and osamabama is from IL so i
know what i'm talking about there).   course, the less we get from either of
them is all good.  anyway - normally this campaign would have started about
6 months ago and only run a year - but this has been non-stop for 4 years
this time with those 2.  i would think (i would like to hope) that the
electorate is sick to death of both of them.  this thing with the ny gov. is
he was caught up in a prostitution ring and resigned his office today so
that is why there is a new governor there.  anyway - i love politics so i
have't really minded the whole thing but all of my friends (and i must admit
they are 99% republican) are really tired of it.

can't believe we haven't heard any words of wisdom from hugh during all this
governor flap in ny.  i'm quite sure he has no good feeling for the ex-gov -
even before all of this stuff.  i've heard more than i ever wanted to about
him anyway  (and his ever suffering wifey who doesn't want to give up his
500 million dollars) .  but hugh, what have you got to say about the new
gov?  the news has hardly said a word about him other than he is black and
blind (and i THINK i heard he was republican).  so, what's your take?
