Following the problems in the sub-prime lending market in America and the
run on Northern Rock and Bradford & Bingley in the UK , uncertainty has now
hit Japan.

In the last seven days Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly up
and Bonsai Bank announced plans for branch cutbacks. Yesterday it was
announced that Karaoke Bank is for sale and will likely go for a song, while
shares in Kamikaze Bank have nose-dived. Samurai Bank is soldiering on
following sharp cuts and Ninja Bank has taken a hit but remains in the
black.

However staff at Karate Bank have got the chop, and analysts believe there
is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where staff fear they may get a
raw deal. Kabuki Bank executives were reported to be white faced and
speechless, the Ikebana Bank is also out on a limb and the CEO of Seppuku
Bank said he had a bad gut feeling about the organisation's future.
