Fred - it doesn't take long.  My parents brought me up to think for myself and I do notice that a lot of my generation does that - we're not-politically-correct and get a lot of flack for it.  Once the government steps in and starts brainwashing children - and with kids in daycare and then school and being fed the doctrine of current thinking, it doesn't take long for a way of life to change.
