>Agreed . . .except birth records are not medical records, simply the recording of a fact
That was my point exactly. That's no more invasive than an employer requiring you to prove that you are eligible to work in the U.S.. Everyone does that and it is no big deal unless you are not eligible to work in the U.S..
>I have a friend who will not use the electronic toll pass here in New York because "they know where you are" (they being the toll collection people).
I'm not sure I agree with you on that. Supposing (as in the case of Gary Condit) that you just happen to be a suspicious person and they put you in the area where a crime occurred when you were just passing through minding your own business. It now appears that Gary Condit was not the murderer, doesn't it? If his affair with Chaundra Levy hadn't been known, he wouldn't have be suspected, would he? Of course, he can only blame himself for having that affair. If he hadn't had the affair, his political career wouldn't be over. But that issue really should be between himself and his family.
I have no problem with someone refusing to use toll pass transponders for that reason. I had a boss who was like that. He was a very fine person, too. The only problem with it is that it is a pain in the neck to have to stop and pay someone. But if he is willing to do that to keep Big Brother from knowing where he is has been, what is the big deal?
I do believe they overdo the toll roads here in the U.S.. Our taxes are supposed to pay for that. We should not have to pay for traveling a road that is built by the government from our money. But if they use the toll revenue to pay for construction of the road, the tolls should cease as soon as they have recovered the money and the interest paid on it. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes it doesn't. Take Virginia for example. They keep the toll for the roads to the airport and other places. But with all the money they take in they should have paid for the toll roads long ago, especially the toll road to Dulles Airport. So why don't they stop?
>Unless you're someplace you shouldn't be, who cares?
I think I've already covered that.
>Unless Obama has something to hide, what is the big secret?
On this issue and since it only involves establishing his political and job eligibility, I am with you one hundred per cent.
